Our Wedding

Ethan and I first met in December of 2020 while home from college for winter break. Ironically, we were both stuck in bed. I was recovering from wisdom tooth surgery, and Ethan had just started a sleep study to make some money while home for break, wires across his head and all. Neither of us were looking for a relationship, but out of nowhere, we met and what started as hours of conversation each day quickly turned into something more. After hanging out just once, we both knew, wisdom teeth or not, this was the beginning of forever. We are best friends first, and being in love with your best friend is the best kind of love. We began dating immediately and spent the next four years in a long-distance relationship, as I attended the University of Alabama, seven hours away (eight if Ethan hit Atlanta traffic, which he definitely did… more than once). I had always prayed for a partner I wouldn’t have to pursue. Someone steady, present, and kind. Ethan has been all of that and more. He never once complained about the long drives or the time apart. He simply showed up, again and again, with quiet strength and unwavering love. As the saying goes, distance makes the heart grow fonder, and if that’s true, we may just be the fondest people on Earth. Every short weekend visit and holiday break was cherished, and every second together was worth the months apart. After graduation, we made the move to Charlotte together and soon after rescued our beloved chocolate lab, Miller, who believes every couch is his and every meal is a shared one. The rest is history and just the beginning of a lifetime of love, laughter, and probably dog hair. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
